Reducing Stress with Mindfulness

A Mindfulness Meditation and Reflection time.

This workshop is designed to introduce and practice the concepts of mindfulness and mindfulness meditation strategies in a purposeful way in order to facilitate the integration of mindfulness into your daily life.

As Jon Kabat-Zinn says, “Mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally. It’s about knowing what is on your mind.” As we learn to create intentional present moment awareness, we begin to see changes in our lives that reduce stress. We learn to relate to our difficulties in life with more openness, compassion, and acceptance.

Mindfulness Meditation practices will include:

Attention and awareness, Mindfulness of breath and body, Sensory mindfulness, Mindful movement

Each session Includes educational sessions, breathing practices, guided meditations, and journaling practices. Each session is taught in a supportive environment with no more than 8 people. This workshop is suitable for all levels of mindfulness meditation experience. Cost: $25. In Person Only.

Whether coping with small annoyances or full-blown catastrophes, this workshop leads you through a mindfulness meditation process to strengthen the response flexibility innate in your brain and your being. We will explore how to find calm, clarity and courage in the midst of any adversity.

In this workshop you will:

• Learn/participate in three practices to return the nervous system to its range of resilience

• Learn practices to cultivate the positive emotions that counteract the brain’s negativity bias

• Participate in guided meditations that create new resources of support in your brain

This workshop will guide you toward new ways to recognize, manage, and relate differently to inner dialog, physical sensations in the body, and emotions that may contribute to stress and/or anxiety. You will explore how acceptance, choosing to live in your values, and taking action to make changes impacts your relationship with anxiety and/or stress. This workshop, which includes educational sessions, breathing practices, guided meditations, and journaling practices, will help you develop confidence and guide you toward accessing your true, courageous, authentic self.

This final session, 7/19/2023, will explore your values, as well as how self compassion can ease the sting of stress and anxiety. $50/session.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course

MBSR has been shown to be helpful for: Stress, chronic pain, anxiety, depression, cancer, high blood pressure, GI issues, sleep disorders, everyday challenges. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is a highly structured, 8-week program that supports the development of practical mindfulness skills, which can lead to less stress reactivity, greater awareness and enhanced well-being. MBSR was originally developed by Jon Kabat Zinn. This course consists of guided mindfulness meditation practices, gentle movement, group discussion, communication exercises to increase awareness in every day life, daily home practice, and guided meditation recordings. No previous experience needed. Join others seeking greater ease in response to the challenges of modern living and learn new ways of understanding our experience through mindfulness.
